SUMMARY

Abstract
This multi-center trial evaluated a novel fractional ablative radiofrequency (RF) resurfacing device (Fractora, Invasix) in both Caucasian (skin types I–III) and Asian (skin type IV) patients. Histological analysis demonstrated deep ablation with collagen remodeling, combining the cone-shaped injury pattern of CO₂ lasers with the dermal heating of RF technologies. Two treatment protocols were designed: higher energy for lighter skin and graduated lower energy for darker skin to minimize post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Clinical outcomes showed improvements in wrinkles, pores, pigmentation, and skin texture.

Conclusion
Fractional RF resurfacing proved to be safe and effective for both light and darker skin types, producing significant improvement in wrinkles, acne scars, dyschromia, and laxity. The device combines the ablative benefits of CO₂ lasers with the dermal remodeling of RF, while maintaining a favorable safety profile with no major adverse events. This study highlights fractional RF resurfacing as a versatile rejuvenation option across diverse skin types.
