SUMMARY

Abstract
Lichen sclerosus (LS) is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the genital region, often inadequately managed with corticosteroids. This study evaluates the use of Morpheus8V (RF microneedling) and FormaV (bipolar RF) for treating LS symptoms in women. Traditional treatments often fail to offer lasting relief; this combination therapy was assessed for its potential to deliver sustained symptom resolution and improve tissue appearance and quality of life.

Conclusion
The use of Morpheus8V and FormaV for treating lichen sclerosus led to marked improvements in symptom relief, aesthetic outcomes, and quality of life. This RF-based combination treatment offers a compelling, hormone-free, long-term solution for a condition historically difficult to manage. Results support expanding access to RF microneedling as a first-line or adjunctive therapy in managing LS.

TOPICS COVERED

  • Use of Morpheus8V and FormaV in a retrospective treatment study for lichen sclerosus
  • Thirty-three patients were treated across clinical sites with combination RF protocols
  • Evaluation of symptoms including itching, burning, pain, and appearance
  • 91% of patients reported significant or complete relief from itching
  • 90% reported visible improvements in vulvar tissue appearance
  • 87% of symptom relief lasted at least 6 months; 39% lasted over 12 months
  • Discussion of RF microneedling’s regenerative effects on vulvovaginal tissue
