SUMMARY
Abstract
Acne remains a highly prevalent skin disease with chronic relapse rates and significant psychosocial impact. Traditional treatments such as isotretinoin and lasers often yield inconsistent outcomes with high relapse and side effects. This study evaluated fractional radiofrequency microneedling (Morpheus8; InMode) for both active acne and acne scars in over 350 patients, comparing it to isotretinoin and ablative laser therapies. Fractional RF demonstrated lower relapse rates, higher patient satisfaction, and improved scar remodeling across all skin types, including darker skin tones.
Conclusion
Fractional RF microneedling proved to be a safe and effective treatment for acne and acne scars, achieving long-term remission and significant scar reduction with fewer relapses compared to traditional therapies. The study highlights the versatility of Morpheus8 and the potential role of AccuTite for adjunctive subcision, establishing fractional RF as a leading modality in acne management and scar revision.
